A Look at our Newest Products, Pt. 3

Over the past few months, we’ve launched 3 new tableware products, all with the intention of providing more function + beauty for your home. Our serving platters, candlestick holders, and butter dishes are hand built by our talented Head of Clay Preparation + Hand Building, Steph Dorsch!

We thought it’d be a great opportunity to have Steph speak on designing these new pieces and why they’ll provide such value to your space —

Let’s Talk About Butter Dishes

The butter dish is designed to keep butter at room temperature, allowing it to soften and become more spreadable, preserving the freshness and flavor, and adding a touch of elegance and completeness to a table setting or counter space.

LID

The lid is designed to protect the butter from exposure to air, which can lead to flavor degradation and potential spoilage. The shape was specifically designed to perfectly fit a traditional 8 Tbsp (4 oz) stick of butter, boasting soft smooth edges to contrast the angular edges of the butter.

The oblong shape is intended to use space in the kitchen or table more efficiently by having a more compact footprint compared to a circular butter dish.

DISH

The ceramic base dish snuggly fits the lid with a small clearance of space on all sides to allow extra room for smoothly cutting the butter while making it easier for the lid to stay clean.

HANDLE

The handle aesthetically resembles the shape of the lid, while also providing utility. Specifically designed for a two finger grip, it helps keep your dish clean during the hustle and bustle of cooking in the kitchen or passing around the table.
