A Look at our Newest Products, Pt. 1
Over the past few months, we’ve launched 3 new tableware products, all with the intention of providing more function + beauty for your home. Our serving platters, candlestick holders, and butter dishes are hand built by our very talented Head of Clay Preparation + Hand Building, Steph Dorsch!
We thought it’d be a great opportunity to have Steph speak on designing these new pieces and why they’ll provide such value to your space —
Let’s start with Serving Platters
one — SPACE EFFICIENCY
Oval platters can fit better on tables or in cabinets, especially in tight or limited spaces, as they can utilize the available area more efficiently than large circular platters.
two — VERSATILITY
The elongated shape provides a slightly larger surface area which is advantageous when serving dishes with multiple components or arranging food in an appealing manner. It also lends itself well to artistic plating presentations of food, such as arranging ingredients in a linear of diagonal pattern while enhancing the overall visual appeal of the dish.
three — VISUAL APPEAL
The unique oval shape adds visual interest and variation on a table setting, breaking the monotony of circular dinnerware shapes and making the dining experience more aesthetically pleasing and memorable.
four — EASE OF USE
The longer sides of an oval plate can provide convenient handles or grip points, making it easier to carry and serve food. It also fits more efficiently in our kilns!
