Pottery Care

Craft

The maker spends intimate time with each individual piece. Every item is either hand thrown and turned on the potter's wheel or hand built from slabs of clay, with hand dipped glaze application. The nature of our goods allows for slight variances among sets being sold, glaze colors, shapes, and sizes. Not one piece is exactly like the next. This characteristic is looked upon with delight from the artist, being able to give each customer a very special creation just for them.

Care

In caring for your Jars of Dust wares, note that all pieces were designed to be used on a daily basis. Every piece is microwave, dishwasher, and food safe. Some items even lend themselves well to baking, just make sure to let the pottery preheat with the oven.

We recommend you do not cut any food on your pottery with sharp knives, as the surface of stoneware is stronger than the material of your cutlery and you may begin to see cutlery marks appear on the surface. If this does occur, luckily there are ways to reverse it. Our favorite product we use in this situation is “Barkeeper’s Friend” and can be found on Amazon.
